Segun Samuel
Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Founder & CEO
Segun Samuel founded GreaterHeight Technologies in June 2010 with a specific purpose: to build an IT consultancy that could hold its own on the world stage while being deeply grounded in the African operating context. That positioning — global standard, African origin — has shaped every hiring decision, every client engagement, and every service the company offers.
He brings over 20 years of hands-on experience across the full technology spectrum: software development, data analytics, data engineering, business analysis, and IT consulting. He has worked across roles from individual contributor to team lead, from database administrator to strategic advisor — and that breadth informs how GreaterHeight structures its teams and approaches complex client problems.
Segun's operating philosophy is straightforward: that African professionals and institutions deserve the same quality of technology partnership as any enterprise in London or New York, and that the only way to prove it is to do the work. GreaterHeight's 15-year track record is the argument he leads with.
He is also the founder of GreaterHeight Academy, a technology training institution, and operates under the TECHSPIBUS framework — Technology, Spirituality, Business — which informs his broader approach to marketplace engagement and knowledge transfer. His proprietary IBONK framework (Individual, Business, Organisation, Nation) defines how GreaterHeight thinks about the full spectrum of clients it is built to serve.

How we are organised
Six functions. One team.
GreaterHeight is structured around practice areas — each with a defined remit, a distinct skill base, and a shared commitment to quality and client outcomes. Teams collaborate across functions on most engagements.
Software Engineering
The team that builds things. Web and mobile applications, APIs, SaaS platforms, e-commerce systems, and bespoke enterprise software. Engineers who write clean, maintainable code and own what they ship.
Data & AI
Engineers and analysts who turn raw data into reliable intelligence. Data pipelines, analytics infrastructure, business intelligence, and AI integration — from proof of concept through to production deployment.
Cloud & Infrastructure
The team responsible for what runs underneath — cloud architecture, DevOps, containerisation, security posture, and the reliability of systems in production. They make sure things stay up.
Digital Marketing
Strategists, SEO specialists, content producers, and paid media experts. They grow organic visibility, build content authority, and run paid campaigns that are grounded in data — not guesswork.
Enterprise & Advisory
Senior consultants and strategic advisors who work at the level of organisational change. Digital transformation roadmaps, IT strategy, legacy modernisation, and governance frameworks for complex institutions.
Design & Product
UI/UX designers, product managers, and business analysts who ensure what gets built is what should be built. They define requirements, design user experiences, and bridge the gap between client intent and engineering execution.
Where the team works
One firm, four offices
GreaterHeight operates across Nigeria, the United States, the United Kingdom, and the UAE. This is not a virtual presence or a registered address — it is operational footprint, with people on the ground in each location serving clients in that region.

How the team works
A team built to collaborate, not just to execute
GreaterHeight does not operate as a body shop — a collection of individuals assigned to tasks with no shared sense of direction. The team is shaped by a consistent set of working principles that define how people engage with client problems, with each other, and with the work itself.
This matters more than it might seem. A team of capable individuals working in parallel is not the same as a team that thinks together. Our structure, culture, and internal knowledge-sharing are designed to produce the second kind — where someone on the data team understands what the engineering team is building, and the advisory team knows what the digital marketing function has learned.
Candour over comfort
Team members are expected to say what they actually think — to clients, to managers, and to each other. A culture where people say what others want to hear is a culture that produces mediocre work.
Depth before speed
Understanding the problem before proposing a solution is a working principle, not a platitude. The team takes the time to understand client context before committing to a direction.
Ownership of outcomes
Team members are accountable for what happens after delivery, not just what happens during it. The job is not done when the code is shipped or the report is submitted.
Knowledge that stays
Formal knowledge transfer is part of every engagement. The team documents what it builds so that clients — and future team members — can understand and extend it without starting from scratch.
Context-aware judgement
African operating conditions are different from Silicon Valley conditions. The team applies global standards with local intelligence — understanding connectivity constraints, regulatory realities, and market dynamics.
The team is growing. You might be next.
GreaterHeight looks for people with genuine technical ability, a willingness to do difficult work carefully, and the intellectual honesty to say when they do not know something. If that sounds like you, we would like to hear from you.
